Securit(m)a(u)s

My place could have the same rules as any airport:

Prepare for security screening, not just your carry-on items but your check-in luggage and your person as well.

Keep your luggage and personal belongings with you at all time ( otherwise you might risk loosing it ).

Any metal item such as buttons, zippers, hair accessories etc. can set off sensitive detectors ( and they will run away with all your loose items ).

Some airports are equipped with "sniffer" scanners. These devices check for chemical and compound resides.

MAUs and his little microwave friend

This is Maus and his little microwave friend. He's a cat filled with grains you can warm up in a microwave and then put on your shoulders to help with neck pains etc.

It's warm and makes funny noises with the grains inside - what could be more fun :)

"Just don't put me in a microwave too, comprende?!?!"

EEEEMELIIIIIIII!!!!!

Yesterday I came home from work and noticed that I hadn't closed the bathroom door properly... it was open just a bit, and somehow I knew what was waiting for me inside...

MAAAAAAUUUUUSSSSSSSSS!!!!! Again he had a fun filled day eating toilet paper ;)

"Oh, come on, it certainly wasn't me..."

Why can't I go??

Last week I took Guinness to the vet for her yearly health check. Since she is not really keen to go to anywhere I took my cat carrier box out few hours before we left so that she could get used to the idea of us going somewhere.

I didn't quite go as I planned, Maus dashed into the box and refused to come out! Obviusly he had forgotten that last time he went somewhere in that box it was off with the ballz ;)

Finally I got unhappy Maus out of the box and protesting Guinness into it. He looks really disappointed...

Poor Maus, he'd never been alone before and when we finally got home from the vet's Maus was maus-ing from the letterbox so loud that I could hear him downstairs ( and we live on the 4th floor ). Next time he's definitely going to come with us :)

Is he a Maus or is he a magpie?

Not the camera too!

Wikipedia on cats diet:
Cats can also develop odd eating habits. Some cats like to eat or chew on things like plastic, paper, string, wool, or even coal. This condition is called pica and can threaten the cat's health depending on the amount and toxicity of the non-food items eaten. The condition's name comes from the Latin word for magpie, a bird which is reputed to eat almost anything.

Sunshine Cats of Helsinki

Maus and Guinness both are really enjoying the first sunny days of spring.

I wish instead of going to work I could spend one day lying at the windowsill soaking up sunshine too :)

My preciousssssss!

My cats have only one rule: never destroy/eat anything that's more expensive than you are. It has worked out well, only Buffy has ever come close to breaking this rule by dropping my mobile phone to the bathtub ;)

I love to read and I own hundreds of books. I have been a bit worried about my books because of Maus' eating habits and one morning I noticed that he had done the unthinkable! Chewed into bits was my 20 years old copy of the Lord of the Rings which I've red about 20 times :(

"We wants it, we needs it. Must eat the precious!"

Good thing he only ate the cover of the book so I have to just add some tape to it and it's still sort of readable ;) And techically he didn't brake the rule since the book didn't cost much - it just has sentimental value to me.
