Strike a pose

Maus has never been in a cat show, so I had to demonstrate to him how to strike a pose.

"WFT??!?"

Embarrassed much?

I guess we're not going to any shows in the near future ;)

An useful lesson from Lemony Snicket

Darla

Darla weighed 70 grams when she was born. I've never seen anything so tiny and perfect before.

Here she is couple of days old, still her eyes closed.

Bigfoot ;)

Here she is three weeks old.

She was the first of the kittens to leave "the nest", one night she had moved from my bathroom to the livingroom and was sleeping under their scratching post. Since she was so tiny it took me awhile to find her ;) Even if I carried her back, she would stubbornly wonder out again. The others soon followed.

A perfect place for a little nap - right next to the heater.

"My, what big ears you have!"

Chillin' with mom.

Vampires?!?!?

Kiss with a fist

Guinness has been the boss of my place since last summer, but now that Maus is growing up fast he has started challenging Guinnesses' status.

Maus tries to do a bodyslam.

Guinness knows how to fight dirty, first she goes for the chokeslam...

...and the kick in da ballz...

...and Maus taps out ;)

After the leader issue is settled they're all lovey-dovey again :)

Hello Kitties

Couple of years ago Buffy got kittens. Here she is week before those kittens were born.

The best place to give birth was in a same basket with Guinness and Ola. I guess she felt safe there.

The little guys were naturally named in the same fashion than their momma,

Darla

Xander

and Spike!

Although kittens = chaos it was the most amazing experience to see them open their eyes for the first time, learn to walk, learn to eat and to grow up to be proper cats.

Here the kittens are 4 days old.

And here 4 weeks.

Wet, wet, wet

Maus likes to participate in everything I do and therefore he likes to stand on the edge of the bathtub when I'm taking a shower.

One day he learned the hard way that water is actually.... wet! He fell to the bathtub and got soaked. Poor little thing, he dashed like a greased lightning out of the bathroom. I catched him and tried to dry him with a towel but still after that he spent almost half an hour washing himself ;)

Buffy ( the Mouse Slayer )

This is Buffy, a beautiful Cornish Rex cat who used to live with me. When I saw these pics of her online, I just knew I had to have her :)

When I got her I had two options for a name, Baileys or Buffy. I thought I would decide when I get to know her better, if she would be calm and easy going she would be Baileys and if she would be spirited, then Buffy. Enough said - it took about two minutes to see that she was indeed Buffy ;)

When Buffy arrived she was really brave and got along very well with my two other cats Guinness and Ola. Her favorite place to sleep was with her friends....

...or on top of my DVD player, because that was a nice and warm place.

She had her "alien moments" too ;)

And she has this cutest little heart shaped pattern on her left flank.

She was really obsessed with scratching windows, she could do this for hours!

Buffy's workout:

Unfortunately after she had kittens I had to find her a new home, since she became really agressive towards other cats. Now she lives happily as "an only child". I'm kind of a designated cat-sitter for her so I still get to see her once or twice a year :)

Toilet training for humans

"I had been told that the training procedure with cats was difficult. It's not. Mine had me trained in two days." ~Bill Dana

This is what happens when Maus manages to sneak into my bathroom behind my back.

He just looooooves to scroll out the toilet paper and eat it. I'm starting to think that my toilet paper is somehow covered with catnip ;) For this reason I try to keep my bathroom door shut, but sometimes I forget... and soon hear the sound of Maus obsessively rolling the paper out as fast as he can 'cause he knows I'm going to end that fun.

I have this toilet paper box in the bathroom and it has a lid in it. One day I thought that I might as well keep the paper in the box - I can get it easily out when needed. Good plan, works in theory, but not in practise as I was about to find out.

I left the toilet door open, and suddenly it was really quiet and I couldn't find Maus anywhere. That usually spells out trouble. When I checked the toilet, this was the sight waiting for me:

Smart little Maus cannot be fooled, he just opened the box and took the paper roll out.

Now I'm back to keeping the toilet door shut, but I have also gotten used to this sort of toiletpaper ;)
