Maus - mommas little helper

Oriental cats will help you in your daily chores - no need to even ask ;) You really have to have eyes in your back with these cat's, otherwise they'll end up in all kinds of trouble.

Here's Maus helping me with washing.

"The washing machine has been checked, all good to go!"

Interior DeCATrator

This is Maus, on top of my book shelf, minding his own business ;) You can just see how innocent he looks!

"Hmmmm.... what's that on the wall, behind my back?"

"You have such a lame wallpaper, see, right here."

"If I were you, I would do something about that... white is sooooooo passé"

"But hey, lemme help you with that!"

"Ups - caught in the act! Guinness framed me!"

It's getting "toight"

When Maus arrived, the cats sort of managed to sleep in Guinness' old bed for awhile...

...but he was growing so fast that soon they quite didn't fit into the bed comfortably.

Now they have a brand new bed and plenty of room for all of them: Guinness, Maus and the mouse of course ;)

No cats allowed

Guinness and Maus are not allowed to get into my bedroom - so every morning they are waiting for their breakfast on top of the little dvd-cabinet right next to bedroom door. Even though it's a kind of small space it can easily fit two kitties...

Sometimes they do manage to sneak in, here's Guinness sleeping in my bed...

...and Maus hiding behing the curtains ;)

CatNaps

Cats do know the true art of just chillin'.... and then chillin' a bit more. They do it so well it should be categorized as a sport :)

Toys, toys, toys

Maus is getting bigger ...and so are his toys!

When he was about four months old his favorite toy was this little carrot. He looked exactly like Buggs Bunny with his toy ;)

Maus eats like a horse and grows really fast, so soon he needed bigger toys - like this rat.

And now, at the age of almost 8 months nothing's too big for him - he's playing with my sofa cushions.

I wonder what'll come next ;)

That explains a lot

My friend sent me pictures of Maus' long lost daddy ;) I have to admit that they do look exactly the same!

That sure explains the fact that Maus loves to eat shoes!

The truth is out there

Sometimes I have this strange feeling....

...that instead of cats, my house is invaded by....

...the aliens!

Here be tigers!

The cat ( Felis catus ), also known as the domestic cat, is a small predatory carnivorous species that is valued by humans for its companionship and its ability to hunt vermin, snakes and scorpions. A skilled predator, the cat is known to hunt over 1,000 species for food. It can be trained to obey simple commands ( such as: "Dinner is served!" ). Domestic felines ambush or pounce upon and immobilize vertebrate prey using tactics similar to those of tigers.

I wonder what Maus is hunting ;) ?

Where did Maus get his name?

When Maus moved to my place his name was Armas ( = Darling ) - and that he truly is, a little sweetheart. We started thinking names for him, first ones that would go well with Guinness: Tequila, Jameson, Baileys, Magners etc, but nothing seemed to fit for this little fella. Then one day I got it, he is tiny, he is gray, he has a looooong tail and looks just like a mouse!

The funny spelling of his name came from our first visit to the vets' - they spelled his name as MAUS and I thought it was kinda funny 'cause cats in Finland do say "mau" instead of "meaouw" ;) So basically his name is a hybrid between a meaouw and a mouse...

And by the way he can also say his name - pretty loud!

Angels & Demons

There's two sides to every... hmmm... Guinness ;)

Guinness the Angel - so sweet and innocent, wouldn't hurt a fly....

...and then the princess of darkness herself - lean, mean killing machine!

Look, it's snowing!

One morning when I got up this interesting sight was waiting for me at my kitchen. Maus must've had a busy night ;)

Or maybe Guinness did it, since she thought that the blame is on Maus anyway... Mwhahahahaaaa!
